Courage..

The nation is concerned about the health of a Baba who seems to be fighting for a just cause (or just trying to eat some publicity for a vested political interest). Ever wonder about the wellness of a civil rights activist who has been on a hunger strike since the last 10 years?

Have I changed for good?

From a fat short kid, to a tall thin boy.
From someone whose week didn't pass by without a fight, to someone who surpasses every dispute.
From someone who chalked out the future, to someone who takes on life as it comes.
From someone who shied away from talking to girls, to someone who is called as the new player by his friends.
From a selfish arrogant human, to someone who finds happiness in making others happy.
From someone who once cried throughout the year, to someone who cannot cry at all.
From an opening fast bowler in the school team, to someone who wants people to think beyond cricket.
From someone who had no interest in peoples lives, to someone who gossips like a girl.
From someone who took pride in the things he possessed, to someone who finds them immaterial.
From an atheist, to someone who was shown there exists a God.

A month back, I got beaten up by a batch mate of mine over something really stupid. I didn't fight back. I calmly walked away. People called me a coward. I wonder what is more courageous. Fighting back or moving on without uttering a word. After gaining years of experience in this field, I have realized, fighting only makes things worse. My conscience says I did the right thing.

But still events like these often make my mind ask this particular question - Have I changed for good?

Aankhi...

The one and only person who wrote a testimonial for me on Orkut. That too after talking to me only once. :P Extremely talented and dumb at the same time, this girl would go on to do anything that she likes. The most popular one in college (thats what she claims to be :P) is the modest of them all (thats something I vouch for :)) We bonded over music and the Fifa World Cup and soon we became late night online Facebook best friends (thats what we called it i guess) :P We talked about the most random of things. We even fought over things like who is more awesome, you or me! :P Amidst all the teasing, slowly and gradually we became good friends. As I go on writing this post, I remember all the fun that we have had. People even started linking us up. You might not  know this, but people had started calling me 'Bengali Babu' in the hostel :P. But I am glad that none of this jeopardized our friendship. I was always there for you whenever you needed me (I tried at least) and I will continue to be. May you keep crying (you are blessed you can do that) as you do on the most trivial happenings in your life and may your popularity reach newer levels this year.

Happy Birthday
